President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pledged to honour the legacy of his fallen FRONASA comrades from Busoga by initiating sustainable community transformation projects.
During a meeting with the children and grandchildren of the late FRONASA members, including the family of the late Eng. Samuel Kasadha, President Museveni recognised their pivotal role in Uganda’s liberation struggle. He noted that many of these freedom fighters were brutally killed by Idi Amin’s regime.
“These comrades contributed greatly to the struggle for a free Uganda but were brutally murdered by Idi Amin. Their sacrifice is the foundation for the peace we have today,” President Museveni said.
As part of his commitment, the President announced plans to transform Kityerera in Mayuge District into a model village. The initiative will focus on improving livelihoods through organised and sustainable development, ensuring that the sacrifices of the liberation heroes benefit future generations.
“Following this visit, I am going to participate in transforming Kityerera into a model village,” Museveni stated.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Mayuge District and the Busoga sub-region for their warm reception, urging residents to work together for lasting progress.
The proposed Kityerera model village will stand as a symbol of sacrifice, unity, and development, serving both as a tribute to the past and a foundation for future opportunities in the region.
